April 7th, 2008
Mayor Rob Hutchins and Council provided us with the opportunity to
introduce the Ladysmith Ratepayers Association at their Council meeting
of Monday, April 7th. The following is an excerpt from our presentation.

In the ensuing weeks and months the Ladysmith Ratepayers Association
will be carefully considering Mayor & Councils actions on three specific fronts:

 • The first is the need to see more transparency in the conduct of day-to-day
business at City Hall and particularly the need for open debate during Council meetings.

 • Secondly, the need to see Mayor & Council’s commitment towards ‘Master Planning’
for the communities foreshore-upland properties, the jewel of Ladysmith’s future.

 • Thirdly, the need for more comprehensive community planning that takes into account
our future needs as a growing community. One that must preserve the integrity of our
past with the promise our future has to offer.
Community Workshops Visioning Process
The Town of Ladysmith is hosting a number of workshops with a variety of themes in order to prepare for growth and development in the coming years. All are welcome to participate. PLEASE find the time to participate, this is your opportunity to provide valuable input as we move into the future.
